About MarkPrep
MarkPrep (markprep.online) converts PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other documents to Markdown inside your web browser, so your files are not uploaded. It also estimates the token count for named AI models and checks whether a document fits a model’s context window. A chunk preview shows how the document splits for retrieval.
Who runs MarkPrep
MarkPrep runs the website, the converter, the Pro tools and the blog. You can reach us at hello@markprep.online. Figures on the site, such as AI model context windows, are checked against the official source that sets them.
Conversion is free and needs no account. Pro adds a local MCP server and a command-line converter for people who want conversion inside their own tools.

Payments and refunds
Pro costs £19 once. There is no subscription, no trial and no MarkPrep account. Lemon Squeezy sells Pro to you as the merchant of record. It takes the payment, collects any sales tax or VAT, and emails your licence key. We never see your card details.
Refunds are handled through Lemon Squeezy. To ask for one, email hello@markprep.online with the email address you used to buy Pro.
Accessibility statement
We aim for MarkPrep to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. People who use a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification or other assistive technology should be able to use every page.
How we test
- Our test suite runs automated checks with the axe accessibility tool on one page of each type. These include the home page, a converter page, a tool page, the pricing page and the privacy policy. A serious or critical problem fails the test.
- We check keyboard use, visible focus and colour contrast by hand when pages change.
- Every page sets its language, has one main heading, and fits a phone screen without sideways scrolling.
What works
- You can add files with the “choose file” button as well as by dragging them onto the page.
- The tabs and options in the converter are buttons and switches you can reach with the keyboard.
Known limits
- The converter and the Markdown editor show raw Markdown in a code area. Long documents make a long code area, which can be slow to move through with a screen reader.
- OCR text from scanned pages and images can contain mistakes. MarkPrep warns you when the text looks garbled, but it can’t fix the scan, and OCR reads English only.
- MarkPrep can’t add missing alt text to images inside your documents.
- The Pro checkout is run by Lemon Squeezy, so its accessibility is outside our control. If you can’t complete it, email us.
- The site hasn’t been audited by an outside accessibility specialist.

If something on MarkPrep is hard or impossible for you to use, email hello@markprep.online. Tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser and any assistive technology you use. We'll reply and tell you what we plan to change.
